Matiere Premiere

In 2016 Aurélien Guichard, together with his family, founded a Rose Centifolia organic farm in the Grasse area. He is the only perfumer to own and produce his own Rose Centifolia. He cultivates thousands of roses on an exceptional terroir, recognised as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2018. For Aurélien, growing his own roses was a way to reconnect with the essence of work as a perfumer, creating the fragrance itself but also supervising the quality and production methods of the raw materials. Matiere Premiere does not use any synthetic colouring agents in their fragrances, the colours of the perfumes are natural and can evolve without altering the quality. Aurélien idea’s take shape around exceptional natural ingredients, with many olfactive facets, his work then reveals and sublimates the best that nature has to offer.
